Civil War BOM

Hi Everyone!

I have ordered the fabric for the Civil War BOM--I will post pics as soon as I get the fabric.  I chose a really deep red, navy, deep green, gold and a natural muslin as the background fabric.  Here is the quilt without sashing.  I plan to play with the design and put the actual colors in it soon.  I will need to scan the fabric into my computer once I receive it.

I also have played around with an on point setting.  I really like it--I'll reveal it at a future date. I have to limit how many are in the BOM, so email me NOW if you are interested.  My email is  I plan to start this the middle of June.  The cost will be $10/mo.  Returning customers will get a 25% discount.
I'm still working on my newsletter, stay tuned for that as well. I'm having issues with it--the test emails I've sent to myself are not being delivered. Technology?  ugh.

I have Kindergaren graduation tonight.  I have mixed emotions about my oldest "graduating"--even from kindergarten!

Head over to FB and "like" my page--I'm giving kits away right and left!

Another UFO--finished! woohoo!

I have a UFO list--do you?  I think I am one of the few quilters in the world that UFO's bother me.  I mean, I-can't-start-another-project-until-my-UFO's-are-done type of grate on my nerves.  OK, I'm kinda OCD.  I get

Here is my latest project.  I quilted it with a meander/stipple.  I am trying to improve my FMQ.  Not too bad, considering this is only my 3rd time with FMQ.

I couldn't decide what to do with this project now that I had completed it, until my oldest son told me that it was just the right "cuddle" size for the sofa.  I guess it has found a new home with him.  I'm glad.

On the business side of my life right now--I just joined a small coaching group.  I'm super excited about it!  If you need a coach to follow, I recommend Jeannie Spiro at  Her program is called the 9to5 exit plan and it really spoke to me like no other coaching program I have considered.  We had our first group call last night and I had some "a-ha!" moments.  One was to create a survey for my customers to find out what services you like, don't like and would like to see me offer.  I will be working on this in the coming days.  Stay tuned!  Your input is VERY important to me as I try to transistion out of my day job.
The other item we have discussed is that I need a newsletter.  I'm still alittle confused as to the difference between a newsletter and my blog (can't it contain all the same stuff?), but will work on it.  It must be a mental block at writing one MORE thing--writing is right up there with cleaning the bathrooms and folding laundry.  I dislike both. I know that I can include some of the same content in both, and a newsletter would contain some of the same items week after week, I wouldn't be reinventing the wheel every week, but UGH.

On a personal note, my youngest just turned 3 on Saturday.  My oldest was diagnosed with strep throat on Friday, so the party has been postponed!  I will post a pic when we have it though! Nothing cuter than a kid blowing out birthday candles!

I hope you are able to enjoy this nice weather and some quilting time!

Quilt Study quilt of the month

Hi Everyone!

I love this month's post on the quilt of the month.  Here is the link:

Quilt Of The Month

Another great post as usual.

I'm seriously gearing up for my Civil War BOM.  I have the pattern, now I just need to figure out how much fabric to order and the cost per month.  I hope to get this figured out tonight.  It's not too late to get on my "list".  No obligations.  You can also "like" my FB page--Custom Quilt Kits--to keep up to date.  You can also send me an email that you are interested. I will post the pattern with the fabrics that I will be using on my FB page soon. (right now the pattern is in batiks, I need to "redraw" it with Civil War fabrics) I will also post it on my blog and website.

Here is a sample of some of the fabric that might be in the BOM:

Don't forget that you can create your own BOM.  Pick out a pattern on my website, email me and let's start a conversation!  Personlized BOM are VERY reasonably priced--you would be amazed!  I can mail a single block every month, or several.  It's all very customized!  My email is

Until next time,
